SAG Assessment & Consulting, which specializes in the prevention, detection and containment of fraud, corruption and money laundering through the use of forensic technology and data mining, analytics and visualization, has launched.

The Bogotá-based firm is headed by founder and executive partner Simon Alejandro Guzmán Guerrero, and CEO Mónica Vargas, both of whom have extensive experience in their field, in addition to five consultants, managers and associates to complete the team.

Simon Alejandro Guzmán Guerrero is an economist with a specialization in financial administration and fiscal control, and holds an MBA from the Universidad de La Rioja in Spain. He is a certified auditor of the Institute of Internal Auditors as a certified government auditing professional, and a certified financial crime specialist with the Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of financial and forensic auditing, leading large-scale investigation processes in the public and private sector.

Mónica Vargas is an economist with a specialization in finance, graduated from the Universidad del Rosario, ad holds an MBA in business management and administration from the Universidad de La Rioja.

She is certified by the Business School of the University of Cambridge in business analytics, and has more than 16 years’ experience focusing on auditing, financial analysis, the structuring of financial projection models, and experience in data mining, analytics and the visualization of strategic data for prevention and implementation of early warnings and risk mitigation.

In addition to its crime and fraud prevention and mitigation expertise, the firm also offers corporate financial services, background analysis and background checks, and advice on the diagnosis and implementation of compliance, ethics and transparency models within businesses.

For entities that manage public resources, SAG has designed a line of preparation, accompaniment and technical-legal defense in anticipation of scrutiny by state control and surveillance entities.

“Our team is composed of professionals with extensive experience in the public and private sector, especially in large auditing firms, with training in auditing and forensic investigation, big data, data mining and corporate finance,” the firm said.
